Freshly released by John Dunning at johndunning.com/fireworks, you can download the extension to Adobe Fireworks that allows you to quickly switch between commands, autoshapes, native panels and even symbols in the common library. (It’s about as close as you can get without using your brain to control the machine..)

As John states “The first time QuickFire runs, it scans your Commands, Command Panels, Auto Shapes, Auto Shape Tools and Common Library folders to build up a list of available commands. From then on, QuickFire will re-scan these folders every 2 weeks, or you can click the options menu at the top-right of the dialog and select “Scan For New Commands” to force QuickFire to see newly installed commands or symbols.”.

fwcs4_bookThe Friends of Ed Foundation Fireworks CS4 book is rockin da house! The authors that wrote this book are Fireworks rockstars and I envy the tutorials and extensions they give to the Fireworks community.

Some of the most memorable extensions are Grant Hinkson’s Gradient Transform panel and the Fireworks to XAML command and Craig’s updated list of Fireworks tutorials which have become iconic in the web world we live in. Go check out the Adobe Fireworks Developer Center where Grant posted 2 valuable chapter excerpts in their book before its released!

You’ll find something for everything you do in Fireworks and constantly use the book as a resource or even a extended version of the Fireworks CS4 documentation material you get out of the box with Adobe Fireworks CS4, overall this book is the bomb!

Not only will you walk away feeling like a pro, but you will also exhibit huge productivity boosts which mean you can get out and enjoy what you like to do best. No not play with Fireworks,  but get out there and hang out with your family and friends or play those video games you’ve been wanting to play forever. ;-)

Some of the workflows and techniques you WILL learn with Adobe Fireworks are:

  • How to take web projects from prototype to implementation using nothing but Fireworks
  • How best to integrate Fireworks into an enterprise web development environment
  • How to use all of the Fireworks tools to be more productive without sacrificing your creativity
  • How to use Fireworks alongside the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • How designers and developers can use Fireworks as a bridge between
    their respective disciplines
